What is better than natural, homemade products?
nothing.
I first learned about Root2Tip by my lovely friend Tawn (@FrmTawnWithLove) as a possible sponsor for my event #TheCorkscrewCurl. I am SO glad I did. Sal, the owner of Root2Tip is a wonderful woman who truly has a passion for her products and let me tell you, they speak for themselves.
Sal was so generous in supporting The Corkscrew Curl brand. She sent me many products to include in the goodie bags. In this review, I will speak about a special shampoo and deep conditioner I got to try out!

Cleanse, but also Condition
I first tried out the Stimulate and Cleanse SLS Free Hair Shampoo, it was right after The Corkscrew Event in Scottsdale, AZ. My hair was filled with gunk, junk, and frizz. I had massive product build up from my gel not mixing with my leave-in, and really, it was not natural hair event ready (check out my blog post on my event here!). Anyways, I needed something to cleanse my hair, but after color treating it, I also needed the cleanse still not strip my hair. Be careful when purchasing cleansing shampoos as striping is not the same as cleansing!
This product cleansed my hair so well. Seriously. I am not lying here. It cleansed my scalp and washed my actual hair, removing all the gunk and junk. I used it twice, the second time it lathered much more. When I rinsed, I kid you not, my hair was as soft as a new baby's. I was literally in shock. Normally cleansing shampoos just strip, but this product prepared my hair to be deep conditioned.
SIDE TIP: make sure to always thourghly cleanse your hair before you deep condition or else your deep conditioner will just sit on top of all the product you have previously layered on your hair!

Deep Conditioning with protein
I then got to use the Protein Balance Elasticity Retention Hair Masque Conditioner. Since I have color treated hair (from black to blonde to black in one day) I need protein in my life. My hair was originally so dry and dull from the event that I knew I needed to treat it. I wasn't plan on using protein, but I'm so glad I opened this product up.
It smells very much like nature. Nettles, trees, wonderful goodness. It is a thicker deep conditioner that features henna (colorless of of course) to add brilliance and shine to your mane, wheat and protein to actually re-build the lack of protein in your hair and increase elasticity, and numerous moisturizing oils. This product isn't as strong as ApHogee 2-Step Protein treatment, but it is a good weekly conditioner, at least for me. Right out of the shower I will apply this product and immediately place either a shower cap or plastic bag over my hair.
PRO TIP: adding heat to your deep conditioning routine opens up the hair cuticle to allow products to penetrate much more deeply than without it. If you have low porosity hair (hair that refuses to allow the cuticle to open up to let products in), you must use heat to let deep conditioner penetrate correctly. Even use a blowdryer for added heart or maybe even an at-home hooded steamer!

Overall I think...
Root2Tip is amazing. The only drawback is that it's in the UK. But no worries, Sal is bringing the company to the USA as we speak and I am working closely with bringing the USA line to my event in Dallas (keep checking back for more details/tickets!)! I cannot wait for the brand to enter the USA scene, I think many people will love it. Give it a try, y'all!
